Nissan Toronto Challenge 2004
Race Information
It’s time to kick up your heels at the 13th annual Nissan Toronto Challenge. We invite you to join our party to celebrate seniors who have shaped our city and our lives. We’re celebrating our 13th event on June 13th — and we’re promising so much fun, it’s scary! Run, jog, walk or stroll — and be sure to watch for some interesting “guests” along the way! This year’s challenge offers you many opportunities to have some fun while contributing to your community. The Challenge features a 5k run/walk and a 1k fun walk, and an aerobics warm-up to help you start your day.

The Nissan Toronto Challenge is the place to be whether you want to run flat-out, jog or take a leisurely stroll. Bring your parents, your brothers and sisters, your children, and even your pets for a morning of good clean family fun. And be sure to watch for a pace monster (yes, you read it right) or two along the way! Funds raised at the Challenge are used to help seniors in Toronto’s Homes for the Aged to enjoy the little extras that make life worth living — celebrations, special outings, televisions, and even comfortable seats for the patio. As well, dozens and dozens of community groups use the Challenge to raise their own funds to help seniors across Toronto. So join us on the second Sunday in June, and get ready to have a “spooktacular” time!!

WORKING TOGETHER FOR TORONTO’S SENIORS…

Toronto Homes for the Aged Through its 10 directly-operated long-term care facilities and supportive housing at a variety of contracted sites, Toronto’s Homes for the Aged Division provides long-term care for people who can no longer live independently in the community. As well, the division offers services that help people remain in their own homes for as long as possible. These include adult day programs, homemaking services in clients’ homes, Meals-on-Wheels and short-stay admissions (respite).

The Nissan Canada Foundation
Since 1993, the Nissan Canada Foundation has been active across Canada helping seniors. Through its efforts — which include fundraising activities, providing vehicles to organizations that directly benefit seniors, and recognizing the unique contributions of older Canadians — the Foundation was awarded the prestigious New Spirit of Community Partnership Award for its leadership role in successful business/community partnerships.
