Once again the Running Room is proud to support the Calgary Police Service HAWCs helicopter program, at the 27th Annual Resolution Run December 31, 2011 at Eau Claire market. With that support the Calgary Police Service has generously provided us with a certificate as a draw prize for a Fly-Along in this high-tech crime fighter.
Your experience will begin with a tour of the air support unit hanger and HAWC helicopter. Following an orientation and pre-flight briefing, you will board the aircraft and enjoy the flight of your life!

  • To be eligible for this draw prize please see the following terms and conditions.
  • See you all at the event and good luck!
  • Must be registered in the 2011 Calgary Resolution Run December 31, 2011.
  • Must be present at the event (you will need to use the tear off portion of your race bib to enter the draw)
  • Fly-Alongs take place on weekday afternoons.
  • Fly-Along certificates are not transferrable for use by other organizations, clubs or charities, and recipients must be over 18 years of age.
  • As weight affects the speed and maneuvering of the helicopter, only one Fly-Along passenger permitted.
  • Maximum height and weight is 62 and 225 lbs. individuals who exceed these limits may not be eligible-final decision rests with the flight crew.
  • Fly-Along recipients must be able to enter and exit the aircraft unassisted.
  • Fly-Along participant will be subject to security clearance approval by the Calgary Police Service. The bearer must provide name, address and birth date when booking their flight, and clearance must be approved PRIOR to the flight.
  • If it is determined a candidate has been charged with a serious criminal offence or, in the opinion of the flight crew, the candidate may compromise the effectiveness of the program, the candidate will be ineligible for the Fly-Along and will be so notified.
  • Due to operational considerations, we are unable to offer Fly-Alongs between May 31 and September 15th.
  • At time of redemption, the bearer must present the Fly-Along certificate for validation by flight crew, and will also be required to present photo identification. A police Observer- Waiver of Liability form will be completed by the recipient prior to the fly-along.
  • Most of the work in the helicopter is done while flying in a left hand orbit, so only the person in the left hand seat is able to observe what is happening.
