Help a Cause, Receive Awards!

Pledges assist the Northern Alberta Cardiac Rehabilitation Program in the purchase of much needed exercise testing and training equipment.  This year, our stress testing equipment, which is used to assess each patient's medical and functional status, needs replacing. Stress testing results are used to see if the patients are on the proper medication, determine if their hearts are getting enough oxygen, prepare them to return to work and assist them learn appropriate activity levels.  To recognize the efforts of those who collect pledges, we offer the following awards for collectors (awards may be combined):

Esso Kids Heart Beat Spirit Award

Learning lifestyle habits starts in our youth. As such, it is extremely important to get kids to participate in activities which can form the foundation for habitual exercise in their adult years. Heart Beat is very fortunate to have the Imperial Oil Foundation support this important idea by donating funds to youth groups (age 16 and less) who participate at Heart Beat. Awards of $1250, $750 and $500 will be given to the top three non-profit youth groups as calculated by the following formula:

# of kids participating + (% of total group/3)

Kids need to indicate their Esso Spirit Award group on their entry form and an organizer must register the group by phoning 432-6696 before June 9.

BONUS: The first 10 groups to register will get $50 just for participating
