ING Ottawa Marathon
A brand new 2005 Hyundai Tuscon will be awarded to any athlete who sets a new marathon record on Canadian soil at the 2005 event on May 29. The car, provided by Pathway Hyundai in Ottawa, will go to any athlete, regardless of citizenship, who breaks the record for the fastest marathon ever run in Canada. To win the wheels, athletes will have to break the current records held by Waldemar Cierpinski who ran the marathon in 2:09:55 in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, and Lidia Simon who set a marathon record of 2:26:01 at the 2001 IAAF World Championships in Edmonton.

1st – 100% of time bonus
2nd – 90% of time bonus
3rd – 80% of time bonus
4th – 70% of time bonus
5th – 60% of time bonus
6th and beyond – 50% of time bonus

All amounts are in Canadian dollars. To qualify for Top Canadian & Canadian-only time bonus prize money, the athlete must be a Canadian citizen. To qualify for International time bonus prize money, the athlete must not be a Canadian citizen.

Age Category Prizes ---Sponsored by Timex
Age category prizes (first, second and third) will be awarded in the marathon, half marathon and the 10K events. Age category prizes will be mailed to winners after Race Weekend.

Medals
Medals will be given to all finishers in each event.

The Canadian Masters Association will present medals to the top three (3) age category winners in all masters age categories for both men and women in the marathon and half marathon.

Marathon Finisher Certificates
Finisher certificates for the 2005 ING Ottawa Marathon will be available online in the results section after the race.
