CEIP's SMILE Walk/Run

5K and 10K runs will be timed, the walks will be noncompetitive and will not be timed.

Prizes available to the top male and female in each run.

Proceeds from this race will benefit the Cumberland Early Intervention Program - the SMILE Program.

• Cumberland Early Intervention Program (CEIP) is a family centered organization that serves children with special needs from the Cumberland county area and their families in their homes and communities. Through education, advocacy and partnerships we promote potential and build a positive view of the future.
• SMILE (Sensory Motor Instructional Leadership Experience) is a partnership project with CEIP, Mount Allison University and the Cumberland YMCA.
• SMILE serves approximately 60 children aged 3-21 who are physically or mentally disabled or delayed. Children are partnered with student volunteers from Mount Allison University for the year and each Saturday spend two hours together. The program has over 90 volunteers from the University. The main objectives of the SMILE program are to provide a recreational experience and developmental support to children with special needs in a community setting and to provide a respite opportunity for parents and caregivers.
