Over 1,600 runners participating on 120 teams will take to the road for the 23rd running of the Banff Calgary Road Race. A fun and challenging relay race, this annual spring event raises funds for Theatre Calgary’s youth-related initiatives.
 
Race Categories
Men’s: All runners must be male;
min./max. of 11 runners
Women’s
: All runners must be female; min./max. of 11 runners
Mixed: A min. of 3 female and 3 male runners; min./max. of 11 runners
Corporate: A min. of 8 runners must be employees of the same company;
min./max. of 11 runners
Open: A min. of 12 & max. of 14 runners*
Fun: A min. of 14 & max. of 21 runners*


*Teams registering in the Open & Fun categories will be responsible for any runner exchanges occurring between the official stations along the race course. A maximum of 3 runners may participate in a single stage. Only one runner is permitted to participate in Stage 1.

Open/ Fun Categories:
Additional runners are FREE if the sponsorship fee is paid if NOT each additional runner is $60

*Sponsored Teams receive 3 additional meal tickets and a tax receipt for $650 or 11 tickets to a select performance at Theatre Calgary during the 2006-2007 season.
 
Race Kit Pickup & Captain’s Meeting

The Team Captain or a representative must be in attendance at the pre-race meeting where safety rules and race regulations will be reviewed. Attendees will also be responsible for collecting the team race kit (race shirts, post race meal tickets, race guides, etc.).

Post Race Celebration
Following the race, plan to attend the post-race party at The Barley Mill, Eau Claire. This family-friendly event features great food courtesy of Spolumbo’s and The Barley Mill. Top placing teams in each category will be presented with prizes and trophies. Each runner receives one meal ticket with their
registration. Extra tickets will be available for purchase.
